In an exciting new collaboration, HAY, a name celebrated for its contemporary design, is joining hands with Liberty to give the beloved Matin Lamp series by Inga Sempé an aesthetic twist.
HAY's collaboration with Liberty is nothing short of an homage to tradition meeting modernity. This beautiful melding combines Liberty's emblematic floral prints with the Matin Lamp's iconic pleated design, supported by a sturdy steel-wire framed finished in polished brass. The result? "I have always had a deep fascination with Liberty; the store, its aura and legacy, and the floral prints it is home to - there's nothing quite like it," says Mette Hay, co-founder of HAY. "The first dress I bought for my daughter was made of Liberty fabric - it always brought me so much joy when I saw her wearing it. I still have it today! It's rare that you never tire of pattern, but that's truly the case with Liberty prints. They never get old."
This alliance is even more special because Inga Sempé's Matin Lamp series, since its 2019 launch, has been among HAY's most adored collections. Introducing Liberty's fabric to this series not only retains its playful design essence but breathes a fresh, modern vibe into the traditional prints. As Mette Hay aptly puts it, the Matin Lamp, with its contemporary flair, paired with classic floral Liberty fabric, transmutes the print into something uniquely graphic and curiously modern.
The collection features lighter patterns for more diffused lighting and darker ones for more focused downward illumination.

In a celebratory gesture, the HAY x Liberty Matin Table Lamp will be unveiled ahead of the much-anticipated London Design Festival on September 1st.
