HAY || Interior and lifestyle goods for the home to prepare for a cozy Autumn season
It's no secret that we are big fans of HAY's products and designer collaborations.
We spent plenty of time oo-ing and ahh-ing our way through the press kits and photos to filter out our top picks of interior and lifestyle goods to prepare your home for a cozy Autumn. Think tactile, eye-catching rugs, colourful and comfortable pyjamas, and the perfect chair to sink into while enjoying a glass of Bordeaux wine.
CHISEL LOUNGE CHAIR
The Chisel Lounge Chair is HAY's latest design collaboration with Norwegian designer Andreas Bergsaker. The chair presents a contemporary yet timeless take on the moulded plywood chair.
Breaking from his usual solo projects, often featuring smaller accessories and lamps, the Chisel Lounge Chair allowed Bergsaker to tackle larger objects.
"For a long time, I have had the desire to design a chair, preferably an all-wooden chair," he says. "I wanted to design a comfortable and compact lounge chair with a distinctive silhouette and friendly character."
Made from veneered plywood and solid wood, the chair's angled legs with bevelled edges reference a chisel's characteristically shaped cutting edge. Which colour and finishing would you pick for your space?
APOLLO CHANDELIER & WALL SCONCE
In its latest collaboration with Copenhagen-based Studio 0405, HAY is delighted to introduce an extension of the Apollo lighting range: the Apollo Chandelier and Apollo Wall Sconce.
Initially created by Nikolaj Lorenz Mentze as an oil lamp for Apollo Bar & Kantine, a stylish restaurant in Copenhagen, the Apollo Portable lamp resulted from Mentze's first collaboration with HAY to create an electrically-generated version.
Made of clear anodized aluminum tubes, the collection bears a very industrial form, while the smooth hand-blown glass shades make them contemporary and fresh. "The chandelier sets the scene - it's both sculptural and functional," says Mentze. "With its references back in time, the lamp feels familiar. It's an object that will hopefully witness several generations."
The wall sconce, available in three glass shades, is great for lighting up enclosed spaces like corridors, while the chandelier works beautifully in a room where it can make an impact--think a hotel lobby or a reception area.
OUTLINE PYJAMA COLLECTION
Designed for HAY by Tilde Bjerregaard, the Outline Pyjama Collection expresses the designer's tactility, strong craftsmanship, originality, and attention to detail. Once you put on this sleepwear collection, you will essentially want to live in them.
"I really admire Tilde's eye and love for details: everything from where a button should sit to how the elastic band should be positioned and the overall shape and cut," says Mette Hay, Creative Director of HAY Accessories. "She truly pours her heart into her work, and you can see and feel that in the Outline Pyjama Collection designed for HAY."
CHANNEL RUG
We didn't forget about keeping your feet warm during the cool autumn months. Designed for HAY by Clara Von Zweigbergk, Channel Rug uses different coloured yarns woven together to create a visual and textural diagonal pattern. Hand-woven in India from a blend of New Zealand wool and cotton, the tactile interplay of thicknesses and colours creates a graphic, three-dimensional effect—a stylish way to add vibrance to any room in the home.
