STAYCATION SERIES || Casa Habita Presents an Upscale Getaway in Guadalajara's Trendy Lafayette District
The desire to travel and escape the city is being compounded by travel restrictions triggered by the global pandemic. With travel confined to destinations accessible by car, we are launching a Staycation Series, to provide you with unique staycation options around the world, spanning the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, and beyond. Join us as we explore Casa Habita, a trendy hotel in the heart of Mexico City.
Whether you’re in the mood for a hand-shaken cocktail at the bar, a dip in the pool, or to relax in a cosy rooftop cabana overlooking the city, Casa Habita has got it all.
Located in the trendiest area of Guadalajara, Mexico, Casa Habita is the newest hotel of boutique hotel developer, Grupo Habita. The upscale hotel is housed within an original, early 20th structure from the Lafayette neighbourhood - a building which has since been integrated with a brand new high rise that houses the hotel’s 37 guest suites.
Italy-based design firm Dimore Studio has worked closely with Grupo Habit for the project, bringing together distinct characters of the neighbourhood, the local arts, and fashion scene, as well as the surrounding architectural context to create an authentic stay in the heart of the city.
Unlike the popular, sun and beach destination resorts known to travelers outside of Mexico, Casa Habita presents itself as a tranquil hideaway within the hustle and bustle of modern city life. The location and design are the main ingredients of the boutique hotel, which boasts an array of amenities including high-end bars, a restaurant, a pool, a spa, a conference room, and a rooftop terrace that overlooks the city.
The property is divided into two individual sites - the renovated, 40’s house with the lobby, bar, restaurant, pool, and terrace; and the modern high rise where the 37 rooms and spa are located. The two contrasting areas merge seamlessly into a unified space, although keeping their own unique identity.
Similar to other Grupo Habita hotels, Casa Habita features an intimate outdoor swimming pool with a pool bar and terrace for guests to soak up the sun while enjoying their favourite cocktails. Surrounded by vibrant, landscaped greenery and remnants of the vintage 40’s house, the beautiful space is the perfect place to relax and have a good time with friends and family.
To relax sore muscles and relieve stress, visit the hotel spa on the ninth floor of the hotel, which is also the top floor. The spa features steam and sauna rooms with two massage cabins, as well as open areas for quiet relaxation, meditation and yoga, set against the stunning backdrop that is Guadalajara’s skyline.
Located within the original heritage house, the hotel restaurant naturally takes on a more vintage feel to complement the architecture. Green and golden shades, as well as the use of rich textures and materials, dominate the space to evoke a classy and elevated dining setting. A spacious sun-drenched outdoor terrace is also available for guests who prefer to eat out in the open.
After indulging in a meal at the restaurant, guests can head up to the rooftop terrace on the top floor of the new building to enjoy panoramic views of the city below. A comforting and minimal contemporary design can be found on the rooftop terrace, putting the astounding views of Guadalajara and its surrounding in the spotlight.
If you are looking for a brief getaway where you can survey the view of the bustling Mexico City from the city’s high point, Casa Habita by Grupo Habita is an ideal place to stay. Who can say no to its panoramic views, afternoons sipping cocktails by the outdoor pool, and deep relaxation sessions at its rooftop spa?
