CARE/OF || I Tried a Subscription-Based Supplement Service for a Month and Here’s What Happened

Health and wellness trends have been on the rise lately, and one that has been widely prevalent on social media is subscription-based supplements.

Of course, I had to hop on the train and decided to try Care/of, a popular service known for its tailored supplement packs. I picked this one because they have a large presence on social media, along with an extensive influencer campaign. And, I reasoned, why not try it out? Over the course of a month, I incorporated Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Chromium + Apple Extract, and a Probiotic Blend into my daily routine. Here’s what I noticed.

Week 1: Getting Started Selecting the Right Service

Choosing Care/of was easy due to its strong reputation for a personalized approach. The process began with an online quiz designed to assess my health goals and needs. Usually, quizzes like these would have 5-10 questions, but I was surprised to see the questionnaire had well over 20. They ranged from my dietary habits and lifestyle to specific wellness concerns.

When my first month's supply arrived, I was impressed by the sleek, eco-friendly packaging. Although a small detail, the individual packages with my name and the specific supplements in each pack gave me a sense of individuality – that this was personalized just for me, and no one had the exact same set as me. Each daily pack was clearly labelled, making it simple to integrate into my routine. The detailed information card provided insights into each supplement’s benefits and usage. They even provided me with a box which I could store all the individual packages. This kept everything all in one place.

Week 2: Settling In Adjusting to the New Routine

The first week was about finding a rhythm. Sometimes I would take them in the morning and sometimes at lunch, but generally, I would try to take them with food. Initially, I didn’t notice significant changes, but I remained optimistic and consistent because I knew that it would take time before I started noticing results.

The Science Behind the Supplements

  • Vitamin C: Known for its immune-boosting properties and role in skin health.

  • Vitamin D: Crucial for bone health and immune function, especially important during less sunny months.

  • Chromium + Apple Extract: Aimed at supporting healthy blood sugar levels and overall metabolic function.

  • Probiotic Blend: Designed to promote gut health and improve digestion.

Week 3: Notable Changes Physical and Mental Observations

Having all my vitamins together in one packet was the selling point for me. I didn’t have to manage a bunch of different bottles just to get my vitamins in.

About two weeks into taking the supplements, I began to notice subtle yet positive changes. My energy levels seemed more stable throughout the day, and I experienced fewer afternoon slumps. I also noticed that my digestion was better than before, resulting in less bloating and more regularity.

Mental clarity and mood

While I can't attribute all changes solely to the supplements, I felt a slight improvement in my mood and mental clarity. There were fewer mood swings and I was generally happy and positive.

Week 4: Reflection and Evaluation Summarizing the Experience

By the end of the month, the most significant changes were seen in my digestion and energy levels. The convenience of Care/of’s pre-packaged supplements made taking supplements easy and stress-free. And having all my supplements in tiny packets ready to go was just a bonus that made taking supplements quick and easy.

While I wanted to continue my subscription with them, they have recently notified all their users that they will not be accepting any orders – however, we have found a few other brands that also offer subscription-based supplements that you can try out.
