GRACE & FLOW || Lavender Fields Outdoor Yoga to Kickstart Your Summer
High up on Predator Ridge in Vernon, BC, one could gaze at beautiful lake views while transitioning to their warrior 2 pose.
My travel buddy loves outdoor yoga, and this is how I found myself still groggy from sleep driving up to Vernon from Lake Country in the morning. Once I got there I had no complaints; the weather was perfect for outdoor yoga, and the canvas shielding us from the strong direct sunlight made it more comfortable as the hour-long session began. As we went in late May, there was still a gentle breeze, and the weather was on our side, as the sun reflected on the glassy waters of the numerous lakes nestled within the surrounding grassy rolling hills.
As a busy working mom of two, Jessica Nobrega, owner of Grace & Flow events, saw a need for a way to disconnect and bring balance to a hectic life schedule. Incorporating the stunning landscape of the Okanagan Valley with yoga in everything they do, Grace & Flow offers grounding outdoor practices two times a week that accommodate even the busiest schedule.
We had attended a session from their special Outdoor Summer Yoga Series at Predator Ridge Resort, which consists of the Yoga + Mimosas in the morning and Sunset Stretch & Sip. Of course, a vacation or retreat to the Okanagan isn’t complete unless you finish off with wine!
After our session, we definitely felt a lot more relaxed and ready to start the day, and as we sipped on our Mimosas, we had a chance to shop for some locally made blankets by Okanagan Blankets. Needless to say, we immediately bought and donned the patterned shawls.
All Grace & Flow events are on the handcrafted wooden platforms at Predator Ridge, set among the forest and lavender fields, a short drive from Kelowna. Find out more about Grace & Flow’s yoga retreats and summer outdoor yoga sessions on their website.
