Tableau Bistro || Boutique Hotel Dining
The Loden Hotel has been around for quite some years now, yet still maintains it's cool, off-the-radar vibe. I remember the long lineup for its second year anniversary party, with themed party rooms, live musical performances, and impeccably dressed guests.
Tableau Bistro is the tastefully designed restaurant part of the Loden Hotel, with its retro vibe gold bannisters and moody dark navy walls complimented by dark wood elements. The windows with its wooden shutters open out onto the quaint patio, where guests enjoy a light evening breeze and the last rays of the summer sunshine as the sun made its descent.
Seated at a table near the back of the dining room, our waiter greeted us warmly and we ordered mains and a kiddie burger special for our mini guest of the evening.
Our dishes arrived promptly and the sizeable kids portion burger, thick cut fries, and juicy steak were notable points from the evening. We started our meal with a refreshing salmon tartar and enjoyed the various main dishes including the 8oz Steak Frites with red wine jus, Duck Breast with citrus marmalade and salmon on bed of quinoa with tartar sauce.
Overall an enjoyable dining experience in the heart of downtown yet away from the crowds. A recommended "getaway" to enjoy a few hours on the patio with a glass of wine.
