The Vanderbilt residence is an exercise in incorporating nature into urban living, a philosophy central to COOKFOX's design ethos. This commitment to the resident's health and well-being is evident in the deliberate choice of a soft and neutral palette, which sets the stage for the artwork and greenery to captivate and comfort the observer.
The natural colour palette and tactile textures puts the residents at ease in this softly-lit living space.
The living room, a tableau of minimalist elegance, features a sofa by &Tradition through Suite NY, harmonizing with Sebastian Herkner's lounge chairs from Haute Living. The coffee table by Gubi, side tables by 57 Street Design, and Tala table lamps complement the space. At the same time, artworks by Caroline Weber and dimensional art by Kristy Kun serve as sophisticated focal points.
The kitchen continues this thread of understated luxury, with counter stools by Knoll that invite one to pause and appreciate the simple act of gathering. It's a space where form and function are in perfect alignment, allowing for both culinary adventures and quiet contemplation.
The handleless cabinet design and slender grips on refrigerator and dishwasher embody simple sophistication.
In the bedroom, the design philosophy reaches a crescendo of calmness. The dresser table lamp by Hennepin Made and the floor lamp by Anony cast a soft glow, enhancing the wood wall art by Katie Gong. A painting by Livia Mourao and a sculptural piece by Toshiaki Noda on the nightstand by Nathan Young via DWR are curated to decorate and inspire.
