HOTEL SERIES || Hotel Rotary MGallery by Sofitel
Fresh off our brief train ride from picturesque Lausanne, Switzerland, we arrived in Geneva and made the short walk to our hotel, Hotel Rotary MGallery by Sofitel.
The automatic double doors swooshed open and we were greeted by a warm colour palette, reading and waiting area, and an expansive view into the restaurant and bar, oriental-inspired lamps hung from the ceiling over wooden tables and embroidered arm chairs.
The front desk area was filled with framed artwork arranged in an asymmetric way, along with plush arm chairs and mint-infused water to greet guests when they arrive from their travels.
We were given a quiet room on the 6th floor featuring a dark colour palette of teal wallpaper and dark wood complemented with gold accents. A faintly reflective peacock pattern is the highlight of the room, acting as a backdrop for the biege leather headboard and painted side table China lamps. Heavy fabric drapes hung on recessed tracks ensure a restful night's sleep with zero sunlight peeking through to disturb you.
The MGallery hotel writes that femininity is at the heart of their brand, and thus they have tailored services for the female traveler, such as offering a range of cleansers, creams, and other facial care items available for purchase at the front desk. Forgot your hair straightener, hair elastics, or want to spend a quick 30 minutes of zen on a yoga mat? They've got all these items available for you when you arrive, all you've got to do is ask.
The tailor-made experience for her continues into their dining options, such as offering a selection of women's magazines for your to peruse during your meal, and a balanced breakfast buffet with fruits and 0% white cheese, soy milk and whole grain bread. If you want to venture a bit further for tasty local dining options, make sure to inquire for their suggestions at the front desk. We enjoyed a lovely morel mushrooms cheese fondue at a quaint restaurant based on their recommendation.
The only regret is our stay was only for two days over the weekend. If we had more time we would have loved to try out the dinner menu the hotel restaurant, L'Artisan. Fortunately this gives us an excuse to plan for another Europe trip with a stop in Geneva!
