SEA TO SKY GONDOLA || This Mountain-top Panoramic Experience Offers The Perfect Weekend Escape in Sunny Squamish

As we eagerly await our opportunity to venture to new lands around the world, the best remedy for our travel bug is to escape through the world of photography. Join us as we explore the Sea to Sky Gondola experience in Squamish, British Columbia.

On our way back from Whistler we made a stop to enjoy the Sea to Sky Gondola experience. We are glad we did. Breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, sparkling turquoise waters of Howe Sound, and a suspension bridge that makes you feel as if you are hovering in mid-air.

We opted to take the gondola up to the peak so we could spend more time leisurely taking in the views and the easier trails at the top. There is a restaurant with a spacious patio and a cafe at the top, so you can settle in with a refreshing pitcher of beer or a tasty cocktail as you bask in the summer sun.

An alternative would be to hike up the mountain, which takes roughly 3 to 4 hours depending on your fitness level. It’s always a great motivation when you take the gondola ride back down the mountain after an invigorating hike up to the top; it makes you wonder how you managed to scale this steep hillside in a matter of hours. It’s a great reminder of how the toughest journey begins with the courage to take the first step.

Whichever way you decide to make your way to the peak, we guarantee the views will be well worth the work!

The gondolas offer bench seating which fits up to 6 people. We took the gondola up with just 2 people and were mesmerized by the evolving landscape as we ascended to the top.

The steep ascent to the peak gives you a panoramic view of the turquoise waters and lush greenery on the mountainside.

Although it is already mid-summer, you can still see snow at the top of the majestic mountains set against clear blue skies dotted with fluffy white clouds that make for a picture-perfect backdrop.

The view from the top of the peak. A scenic setting you could gaze at for hours on end. We sat at our table at the Sky Pilot Restaurant for 2 hours simply staring out to the horizon. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and take in the sparkling waters. Don’t forget to wear a pair of sunglasses!

Crossing the suspension bridge is a must to experience the thrill of nature at your feet. The view from the other side offers a different perspective.

Four friends we met on the peak asked us to take their photos in front of the lake. We also stole this photo of them crossing the suspension bridge in a unified manner, perfectly spaced out.
