GIFTING SEASON || Sales Are in Full Blast. Here are 3 Reasons Why it is OK to Splurge on Yourself

The holiday season is upon us, and with it comes the pressure to find the perfect gifts for everyone on your list.

But what about you? Amid all the shopping and gift-giving, it's easy to forget your needs and wants. However, we encourage you to do something different this holiday season: treat yourself!

With so many great sales, it's the perfect time to splurge on something you've been wanting or needing. Here are three reasons why it's okay to splurge on yourself occasionally:

When you treat yourself, make sure you don’t feel guilty about spending money on yourself. Remember, you need to make sure you are happy and satisfied with how things are going for self-improvement.

1. You deserve it.

Let's face it: you work hard all year long. You take care of others, meet your deadlines, and achieve your goals. So why shouldn't you reward yourself for all of your hard work? A little indulgence can go a long way in boosting your mood and reminding you that you're worth it.

2. It can boost your happiness.

Studies have shown that spending money on experiences (such as a nice dinner or a weekend getaway) can actually make you happier than spending money on material possessions. Why not use this sale season to invest in something that will truly bring you joy?

Splurging on yourself occasionally does not mean you are wasting money. If you have a hard time wrapping your head around this, think about what you want as a goal. You are working towards your goal, so there will be self-improvement in the process.

3. It can be a great motivator.

Setting a goal for yourself, such as saving up for a particular item, can be a great way to stay motivated. And when you finally achieve your goal and splurge on that item, it will feel even more rewarding. Rather than having the immediate satisfaction of buying what you want when you want, it’s good to take a step back and reward yourself when you deserve it. You’ll look forward to your reward way more if you splurge occasionally.

Here are some tips for splurging on yourself responsibly:

  • Set a budget. Before shopping, decide how much you're comfortable spending on yourself. Having a budget as a guide will help you avoid overspending and getting into debt.

  • Do your research. Take some time to compare prices and find the best deal on the item you want. More data will help you stretch your budget further.

  • Think about what you really want. Don't just buy something because it's on sale. Make sure it's something you'll genuinely use and enjoy.

  • Balance your budget. If you do splurge on yourself, make sure you adjust your budget accordingly. This will help you stay on track financially.

Remember, it's okay to indulge yourself once in a while. Just do it responsibly and enjoy the experience!

Happy holidays!
