LIPNO LAKE HOUSE || This Wooden Cabin with Lake and Mountain Views is Close to Perfection

Would you enjoy spending time in a cozy cabin, sitting next to a toasty fire as you sip on hot cocoa, gazing out at tranquil lake views?

Lipno Lakeside Cabin offers a refuge for its owners, both athletes. Whether returning from backcountry skiing in winter or from a long trek in summer, they know that a hot sauna, relaxation by the water, and the smell of the surrounding forest are waiting for them at home.

Located in the heart of Bohemian Forest, the cabin enjoys serene views of Lipno lake. The house replaces an old wooden cabin envisioned as the perfect base for nearby mountain sports in all conditions.

Can you spot the cabin tucked away in the forest?

The house is surrounded by dense forest, shielding the cabin from the sightlines of a regional railway line, which passes through the territory to the northeast. A narrower part of the Lipno lake opens to the southeast, behind the track where the mouth of the Vltava River lies.

Nestled amongst the dense forest, Lipno Lake House is oriented towards lovely lakefront views.

The morphology of the house stands on several principles of Bohemian Forest architecture: rectangular floor plan, compact shape, orientation along the contour line, creation of a covered porch, and more pronounced articulation of the gable (overhang).

The building is a single-story with an attic. A massive beam ceiling on the ground floor complements the wooden walls. On the second floor, the roof is built using modern and innovative technology Novatop Open panels. The height alignment of the eaves plane with the lintel of the windows and doors on one horizontal line is a contemporary interpretation of the cornice.

The cabin features an open kitchen design and a cozy fireplace to stay warm in the winter.

A large window frames the lake views just moments away from the cabin and is central to the home’s design.

The breathtaking landscape with a view of Lipno lake and two major peaks in the background is central to the house's design. A large window in the living space is oriented towards the dominant gabled square window facing the lake. The other windows have a direct view of the forest. The forest is present in the interior as a material, smell, and colour. One small room, a bathroom, a laundry room, a small sauna, and a room for storing sports and technical equipment are located on the ground floor. The attic hides a bathroom, a pantry and two bedrooms with a circular window in the gable, framing other peaks in the area.

A snug space to tuck in for a good night’s rest.

Three sides of the house are lined by a wooden terrace, which, depending on its variable width, creates, together with a significant overhang of the roof, a space for various uses (sitting in the sun and the shade, a sauna restroom, storage of wood and bicycles).

The wooden structure is made of CLT panels visible in the interior, while the facade cladding consists of vertical larch profiles. Integrated sliding shutters complement the windows, and a sheet metal roof contrasts with the wooden exterior.

Relaxing within the pleasant and warm atmosphere with a crackling fire in the fireplace and a view of the Lipno lake with the snow-covered mountain peaks, it's not far from perfection.

The large skylight ensures you wake up with natural light as you’re getting ready for the day.
