ESTE VILLA || Discover the Cultural Melting Pot of a Well-Traveled Family's Home in Seletar, Singapore

Get ready to be transported into the world of a well-travelled couple and their two young children.

Their unique 5-storey townhouse nestled in the serene neighbourhood of Seletar, Singapore, is a melting pot of culture, history, art, and personal style.

As you enter through the basement carpark, the entrance vestibule greets you with a stunning panelled wall filled with intricate niches showcasing artefacts from the Buddha to porcelain dancers and the holy-see.

Follow the dark grey wall to find the man cave, a treasure trove of art, music, liquor, and relaxation. The ribbed walls, timber floors, elaborate tiles, corten steel walls, driftwood beams, concrete walls, and copper tap create an inviting atmosphere perfect for unwinding while listening to music with a whisky in hand.

The man cave in the basement is an eclectic mix of textures and collected objects.

The flight of stairs connects all levels of the home while full-height windows and lush plants immerse you in a verdant setting. The living room boasts a brick wall and clock tribute to Platform 9 3/4 from Harry Potter, while the Rajasthani-inspired wallpaper is a stunning collaboration between Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Asian Paints. The basement intervention adds a touch of dark grey ribbed wainscoting, an aluminum trellis, and a TV feature wall, creating a cohesive language that distinguishes guest areas from private spaces.

The kitchen is a delightful mix of white textured porcelain tiles, ribbed blue laminates, a blue countertop, and a dash of spicy red. Two kitchens cater to light and heavy Asian cooking, respectively, and are perfect for hosting dinner parties. The master bedroom is a restful haven with dark tones, a matching bedhead, and antique Peranakan (Straits Chinese) door panels repurposed as the entrance to the walk-in wardrobe.

The master bathroom features stunning Peranakan motifs and influences, showcased through patterned tiles mingled with dark-toned tiles in the shower and a dark timber vanity counter.

The attic is the perfect spot to catch the sunset, with its western-facing windows creating a golden tone against the pink Sabyasachi wallpaper, teak floor, and Peranakan tiles. Fairy lights complete the magical atmosphere, and the bathroom is a comfortable celebration of textures with patterned tiles and timber vanity counters, all highlighted by a natural timber seat for the ultimate spa experience.
