HOTEL BJORNSON FOREST APARTMENTS || Prefabricated Modular Apartments and Spa in Low Tatras Mountain, Slovakia

There has been an increase in demand for modular shelters with the rise of the pandemic. The pandemic has pushed the hospitality industry to rethink its services and solutions.

How can hotels and resorts alleviate guest concerns about staying near strangers they don’t know? Modular structures outside of the main building would seem like an apt solution. Not only does it provide guests with total privacy, but the shelters also offer stunning nature views.

Hotel Bjornson, located in Low Tatras mountain of Slovakia, commissioned a cluster of Ark-Shelter’s forest apartments to be placed in the surrounding area of the main hotel building. The double cabins are all oriented towards a singular angle, making the installation relatively straightforward.

Prefabricated modules are placed respectfully between the trees, raised from the ground and covered with green roofs, allowing the landscape to continuously flow under, around and above them.

The forest apartments and spa make it easy for guests to comfortably enjoy the beautiful scenery in the safety of the singular apartments. A separate cabin housing a sauna with large-format windows allows guests to take in the sweeping views of the majestic forest and snow-capped slopes, creating the stark contrast between the heat of the sauna and the wintry cold just beyond the window.
