COCOON CHAIR || A Tribute to Danish Design Celebrating Simplicity, Functionality and Elegance

What does one ask for in a dining chair?

Let the armrest adhere to the contours of my arms so I can rest easy while enjoying a relaxing meal after a long day of work. It should subtly encourage my posture without losing the elegance in its design. The cushion should provide just the right amount of support without being too soft so that I sink in.

The Cocoon Dining Chair pays tribute to the parents of Danish chairs, celebrating the simplicity, functionality, and elegance that defines the style. It is a well-designed chair that is made to last by combining sustainable design with virtuous craftsmanship.

The Cocoon Dining Chair is the second addition to the Cocoon Family, with the firstborn being the Cocoon Lounge Chair. As you say for 2nd child: your heart doesn't split, it doubles in size.

The Cocoon Family is a design family that blurs the boundary between furniture and architecture. It is inspired by the organic modernism of the 60s, where soft and sculptural shapes melt together. The resemblance is evident as you take in the gentle curves of the chair that embraces the body.

Designed by Kevin Hviid for ATBO, the Cocoon Dining Chair is a uniquely ambitious project in that it seeks to build rounded and circular forms into a wooden chair while also making the design efficient and durable. This furniture that doubles as an art piece comes in both Oak and black stained beech.

The curved and circular design in a wooden chair is an ambitious feature.

The design provides subtle posture guidance.

The chair embodies Danish design characteristics of simplicity, functionality and elegance.
