VITRA DANCING WALL || Maximizing Flexibility In The Workspace With Functional Moving Walls

Mobility and flexibility are the new keywords in the office furniture industry as more workers return to the office.

Migrating back to the office requires a few changes to happen. First, the new office needs to be adaptable and conscious of social distancing measures, enabling the office layout to change at a moment’s notice. Various furniture brands and designers have devised creative ways to meet the needs of the future office—partition walls, modular meeting rooms and phone booths, and more.

However, Vitra had already found an elegant and functional solution to the issue with its Dancing Wall collection, designed by Stephan Hürlemann back in 2018. The Dancing Wall collection features office furnishings that can be easily reconfigured by the workers themselves, simply by pulling the walls along on wheels!

The mobile partitions can easily divide an office into different zones, creating impromptu meeting rooms by placing several shelves next to each other. The walls also double as a vertical workspace for those who are fans of standing desks. The unit consists of a metal frame that can be equipped with various configurations. It can be designed as a bookshelf, TV unit, cloakroom, plant wall, or room divider with removable whiteboards and pinboards. If you are concerned about the amount of weight the Dancing Wall can carry, the solid wood panels at the base of the walls carry sufficient weight to be extremely stable.

The countless office layouts that can be made possible by the Dancing Wall partitions to accommodate for changing office size and room functions makes it a truly agile solution that anticipated the needs of the future.
