STUDIOPEPE X TOOY || A Product Catalogue that Doubles as a Collectible Art Tome

If you’re into collectible art books, then this new collaboration by Studiopepe X TOOY should be on your radar. Who knew one could fall in love with a catalogue?

Transparent films mark out the division of the chapters.

Studiopepe led the creative direction for the Italian lighting brand’s latest catalogue Interior Tales, which was conceived as a veritable editorial project. The beautifully composed photos by Silvia Rivoltella paired with the elegant narration by Elena Ravera beautifully illustrate the interaction between light and object, and how that relationship changes throughout the day as lighting conditions evolve.

Graphic design by Atto ties together the elements of the visual narrative, taking care in selecting the appropriate paper and typefaces so the resulting tome portrays the sophistication of the brand new collection. If you are an art book collector, you will appreciate such details — how a page feels to the touch, how the heft of the volume weighs on the hands, how perfect symmetry or perfectly imperfect asymmetry adds character to each page.

The imagery celebrates the pureness of materials.

The captivating still life photos tell the story of interaction between natural light and lighting objects.

The image-based narrative takes us from dawn to midnight, capturing the light changing with the passing of the hours and in the various environments of the domestic space. The inclusion in the book block of coloured transparent films helps mark out the division by chapters.

The project introduces the new Nastro collection by the studio.

This new collaboration also unveils the Nastro Collection designed by the studio — a family of suspension, wall, floor and table lamps. Nastro takes its inspiration from an in-depth discovery of the moment of union between materials, creating contrast between the pureness of metals.

This product catalogue feels more like an art book that belongs on my coffee table along with similarly soulful photography books. I would definitely keep it as a reference to a study of lighting whenever I’m ready to spice up my home interiors.

This product catalogue / editorial project doubles as interior inspiration.
